Roger Burgess, owner of R2B2 Racing has temporarily suspended racing operations of his two-car Nitro Funny Car team.  The R2B2 Team cars raced last year with driver Melanie Troxel competing at all 24 events. Frank Hawley drove the second car at a limited number of events.

POMONA, Calif., Nov. 15, 2008 -- Melanie Troxel has been looking for another Funny Car victory to go with her first trophy in May, and she and the R2B2 Racing Pro Care Rx Dodge Charger R/T team stamped themselves as one of the favorites with a 4.082-second run at 305.01 mph Saturday as qualifying ended for Sunday's Auto Club Finals.

POMONA, Calif., Nov. 14, 2008 -- A slight slip Friday stopped Peggy Llewellyn from improving her qualifying position for Sunday's Auto Club Finals at Pomona.

POMONA, Calif., Nov. 14, 2008 -- Melanie Troxel drove to the front of the Funny Car pack on a hot Friday afternoon at Auto Club Raceway at Pomona, registering a time of 4.105 seconds.  She equaled Mike Neff's time but claimed first place because the 304.25 speed of the R2B2 Racing Pro Care Rx Dodge Charger R/T bettered Neff's 299.13 mph.

Llewellyn optimistic after opening run at Pomona

POMONA, Calif., Nov. 13, 2008 -- Peggy Llewellyn’s Thursday qualifying attempt at the Auto Club Finals  
at Pomona yielded a time of 7.211 seconds at 181.40 mph, which placed  
the R2B2 Motors Buell 15th and left Llewellyn feeling optimistic that  
the problems that plagued the team at the last event in Las Vegas.

POMONA, Calif., Nov. 13, 2008 -- Melanie Troxel, who wants to end her first Funny Car season on a high note, got the Auto Club Finals started on a good note Thursday as she qualified the R2B2 Racing Pro Car Rx Dodge Charger R/T fifth with a solid 4.129-second time at 302.21 mph. 

She’s only run a limited number of NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle races this season, so Peggy Llewellyn wanted to run well at each event. 

With one race to go before the end of her first season as an NHRA Funny Car driver, Melanie Troxel isn’t positive if she’d rather race more or kick back and chill for a few months.

Troxel advances to quarterfinals at Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS, November 2, 2008 -- Melanie Troxel drove the R2B2 Racing Dodge Charger R/T to a holeshot victory over Gary Scelzi in the opening round of Sunday's ACDelco Las Vegas Nationals at the Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway and it helped her move into 11th place in NHRA POWERade Series points.

LAS VEGAS, October 31, 2008 -- The nearly three weeks of drag racing inactivity had no effect on the performance of Melanie Troxel and the R2B2 Racing Dodge Charger R/T Funny Car team Friday, as she grabbed the No. 3 first-day starting position with a lap of 4.082 seconds at 301.60 mph for Sunday's ACDelco Las Vegas Nationals at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
